The concert of the DownTown Brass band and the spectacle of extreme aerial acrobatics performed by the Youth Theater from Gdańsk on the wall of Katownia were the main points of celebrating the victory of the Christmas Fair in Gdańsk in the competition for the best fair in Europe. On Tuesday, the Fair's Grand Prix and the Christmas Treasury of Ideas awards were also handed out, recognizing the best offers of exhibitors.

Thanks to your votes, the Fair took first place on the podium, and Gdańsk was named the best place for Christmas in Europe. This is a huge distinction that shows what a unique atmosphere we create together every year!

Winter in Gdańsk took on a magical glow, and the city's heart beat in festive rhythm. The Friday opening of the 2024 Christmas Market began the period that residents and tourists have been waiting for. Targ Węglowy, Bogusławskiego and Tkacka streets, the Armory of Art and the Przedbramia Complex have turned into a colorful, joyful space where one of the most beautiful pre-Christmas traditions in Gdańsk takes place. On Saturday, November 23, the Fairy Tale Parade and Opening Ceremony officially inaugurated this unique event, inviting everyone to celebrate the magic of the upcoming holidays.

The festive atmosphere has come to Gdańsk for good, all thanks to the 2024 Christmas Market that started on Friday, which has been attracting residents and tourists from the very beginning. At 198 stands at Targ Węglowy, ul. Bogusławskiego and Tkacka, as well as in the Armory of Art and the Przedbramia Complex, there are merchants with beautiful crafts and handicrafts, 20 world cuisines, as well as attractions for the youngest and more. The fair is open Sunday-Thursday from 12-20, and Friday-Saturday from 12-21.

This year's Christmas Market in Gdańsk is a real feast for the senses. The Pomeranian local government invites visitors to stands under the slogan "Tastes of Pomerania", where you will be able to taste traditional, organic food and regional specialties. The stands will be available to visit on November 22-24 - they will be marked with a special sign "Tastes of Pomerania". This is not only an excellent opportunity to buy regional delicacies, but also a chance to discover the culinary richness of Pomerania, based on traditional and local recipes.

The Christmas Market in Gdańsk, which enters the competition every two years, is this time selected to take first place on the podium. It is worth adding that the winner of the last three editions - the fair from Budapest, in accordance with the regulations, does not take part in this year's vote. However, there are other, strong competitors that need to be defeated.

On Friday, November 22, the heart of Gdańsk will be illuminated by a wonderful Christmas town - the Christmas Fair, which, as every year, will take you to a world full of miracles, the smell of spices and the glow of lights. The magical atmosphere should also influence voters in the Best Christmas Markets in Europe 2025 competition, for which one Polish representative was nominated - Jarmark w Gdańsku. The competition starts on November 20.
