Targ Węglowy will no longer be a parking lot
For over four winter weeks, the heart of Gdańsk will beat to the rhythm of the holidays – the Coal Market, the Armoury of Arts and Crafts, Tkacka Street, Bogusławskiego Street, and the courtyard of Forum Gdańsk will become a stage for holiday magic, filled with handicrafts, the flavors of Christmas, and attractions for residents and tourists.
The first stage will be the development of the fair's infrastructure. As in previous years, the Coal Market will become the heart of the event. As of November 3rd, it will cease to function as a public parking lot.
It's worth remembering that during the Fair, on weekends – from Friday to Sunday – Bogusławskiego Street will be completely closed to traffic. It is on this street that construction of the Fair's houses will begin.
Organizers emphasize that work must begin on Bogusławskiego Street so that the Coal Market is ready to host the Independence Parade.
Parking during the Christmas Market
Special parking spaces will be designated for people with disabilities at Targ Węglowy and on Bogusławskiego Street.
Both residents and tourists can use public parking lots located nearby:
Fair until December 23
On November 12, installation of the Christmas Market infrastructure at Targ Węglowy and Tkacka Street will begin, which will be closed to traffic until December 31, 2025.
The next stage of preparations is scheduled for November 19-20, when exhibitors will enter the fairgrounds to prepare their stands. The following day, on November 21, the fair will open to visitors.
The official opening of the 2025 Christmas Market will take place on Saturday, November 22nd at 4:00 PM. The event will run until December 23rd.
During the holiday season, the market infrastructure will be closed, but the Christmas illuminations will remain to brighten up the winter evenings.
The dismantling of the fair infrastructure will last until January 7, 2026, after which the standard traffic organization will be gradually restored.
