The Christmas market is gaining a new family attraction in 2023. "Spinning Barrels" will thrill and warm every adventurer on a winter day. The spinning coaster will be located in the Christmas Travel Corner with AmberSky at Targ Węglowy. The main sponsor of the Christmas Market in Gdańsk: AmberSky Observation Circle and Gdańsk Carousel took care of attractions for visitors from November 24 to December 23.
This year, the world will swirl like a snowflake for visitors to the Christmas Market in Gdańsk. All thanks to the new attraction that has just been built at Targ Węglowy. Its main structure has different heights - the track wraps in a figure of eight, on which barrel wagons run. Additionally, the carriages spin around their own axis at different speeds, depending on the number of passengers and their weight, which makes each trip on the spinning coaster - as the attraction is technically called - unpredictable, exciting and provides new experiences.
The characteristic of a spinning coaster rollercoaster is that a set of wagons move forward in a row along a track while simultaneously rotating the wagon around its own axis. A set of 12 electric motors working synchronously is responsible for putting the wagons into motion, used to pull the wagons up and for a quick descent by gravity. 16 people can use the attraction at the same time, and the journey time is about 3 minutes. The minimum height allowed for spinning coaster passengers is 95 cm.
"Swirling Barrels" at the Christmas Fair in Gdańsk can be found in the "Christmas Travel Corner with AmberSky" zone, next to well-known and popular traditional fair attractions - the Gdańsk Carousel and the VR simulator "St. Nicholas", which is located in a thematic house along with the "Katarzynka Talking Box" for letters to Saint. Nicholas. The fourth element of the corner is the AmberSky wheel - a year-round attraction located on Ołowianka.
All mentioned attractions are paid. The cost of the package for the attractions of the "AmberSky Christmas Travel Corner" zone, which are located at the Targ Węglowy Fair (the "Spinning Barrels" spinning coaster, Santa's Sleigh - VR flight simulator and the Gdańsk Carousel) is PLN 50.

The cost of the package, which includes an entry ticket to the AmberSky observation wheel at Ołowianka, is PLN 85 - regular tickets and PLN 75 - reduced-price tickets.
One of the most beautiful European Christmas markets - according to the European Best Christmas Markets 2023 plebiscite - will start on November 24 and last for four weeks - until December 23. Targ Węglowy will become a traditional point, where you will find not only fair attractions, but also a catering zone and part of the shopping zone. You will also be able to find Christmas gifts at Tkacka and Bogusławskiego streets and in the Armory. The fair will also be held in Katownia.
