It's time to start the Christmas Market in Gdańsk! One of the most anticipated Pomeranian events will illuminate Targ Węglowy, ul. from Friday. Bogusławskiego, Tkacka, Armory and the Foregate Complex. The stands will open at 12. They will include: handicrafts, gastronomy and regional products. There will be a total of over 170 stands, and 150 exhibitors will bring them to life.
The first day will be commercial, and exhibitors will tempt the first visitors with their works and specialties. It is also a great opportunity to admire the beautiful, festive arrangement of the Fair. They took care of it, among others: State Forests – providing Christmas trees. Thanks to this, Targ Węglowy became green and smelling of Christmas.
Opening ceremony
The fair's artistic program will start on Saturday, November 25. The organizers have planned the official Opening Ceremony for this day. Actors and stilt walkers from the Gdańsk Archipelago of Culture Theater, children from four artistic and creative teams of the Młodzież Palace and children from ZPiT GAK will create a procession of winter, holiday characters. They will be accompanied by: the "Taraban" band, i.e. the "Garnizon Gdański" reconstruction group, and a band of instrumentalists from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. Together they will set off in the parade at approximately 15:30 from ul. Tkacka (from the Armory side) towards ul. Długa, and then go through the Golden Gate to Targ Węglowy and towards the Fair stage.
The Opening Ceremony will start at 16 on the stage of the Christmas Market. First, we will get to know the winners of the Fair's bugle call competition, which was organized in cooperation with the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. Her students will perform the winning composition.
After the official opening, the parade will move again to Targ Węglowy and ul. Bogusławskiego, to celebrate the opening of the Fair together with the visitors, playing out various scenes.
The audience's favorites, Mr. and Mrs. Orzechowski, will also be waiting at the stage or in the Armory, from 17:00-19:00.

Fans of savory flavors will be able to choose between: sprats in dough, baked chestnuts, dumplings, langos or raclette.
Hot chocolate or various types of tea infusions will raise the temperature. Gourmets will enjoy spiced, raspberry and orange mulled wine. They taste best in the original Christmas Market mug, which is perfect for all types of drinks. And most importantly, part of the proceeds from their sale will be donated to the Hospice Foundation.

There will be no shortage of activities: Let's start the holidays! Together with the Gdańsk City Hall, we will inaugurate it on December 5, 2023.
Magical illuminations and decorations in various compositions will appear at Targ Węglowy and ul. Tkacka, in the Oliwski, Oruński, Kuźniczki and Jana Pawła II Parks, on the promenade in Brzeźno, Zielony Most and ul. Stągiewna, there will also be them on the Heweliusza and Kobzdej squares.
The illuminations include over 160 figures, among which you will be able to see both forms already known by residents and tourists, as well as new ones. For the first time in the Oliwa Park we will see Floating Lilies. On the promenade in Brzeźno there will be an almost 8-meter-wide port crane, accompanied by the previously known 11- and 12-meter-high shipyard cranes. The sponsor of this light composition is the Port of Gdansk Authority. On the street Tkacka harbor has a fairy-tale rocking horse. We will pass through the Gate with a plant motif next to the Armory, and in Oruński Park we will find Lighthouses and a romantic, illuminated Bridge. Right at the entrance, we will be greeted by the Gate Illumination, which will also appear in Kuźniczki Park.
The mentioned figures will create compositions. Thanks to the popularity of the campaign and the interest of subsequent sponsors, you will also be able to find impressive single illuminations. The 6-meter-high Carillion will shine on the Young Poland Square, and the Solidarity inscription will stand on the Road to Freedom. #GDN will illuminate Rybackie Pobrzeże, and the Baltic HUB Christmas tree will illuminate Skwer Stogi.
It is worth adding that the well-known illuminations from previous years also attract sponsors. GPEC is the sponsor of a modern Christmas tree on Kobzdeja Square, GAiT, of course, sponsors the glowing bus and tram on Zielony Most and Stągiewna. GOT liked Lew Hewolion at Targ Węglowy, and the Gdańsk Airport. Lech Wałęsa, for obvious reasons, the air zone in the Park. John Paul II.
