16.00 Beginning of the event at Długi Targ at the Gdańsk Christmas Tree
Every year, on the Sunday before Christmas, the Gdańsk Christmas Eve takes place. Also this year, a symbolic Christmas Eve table will be set up at Długi Targ, lit by candlelight, with hay and loaves of bread. However, it will not be a place for a feast, but a meeting place to which we want to invite all Gdańsk residents, regardless of origin, religion or skin color, so that, at least for a moment, we will become one big Gdańsk Family. According to the tradition that has been cultivated in Gdańsk for years, the authorities of our city and invited representatives of Christian churches will express Christmas wishes to the inhabitants of Gdańsk and share Christmas wafers with them. The actors of the GAK Theater and the choir of the Song and Dance Ensemble "Gdańsk" operating at the Gdańsk Archipelago of Culture will put people in the Christmas Eve mood.
